Welcome to Kailash Kitchen! This is a re-invention of what was without a doubt the most popular Tibetan Dumpling House in all of the Kathmandu valley in Nepal during the 80's and 90's. The original restaurant which was owned and operated by my mother drew customers from all corners of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and was as popular if not more among western tourist, dharma bums, Tibetans, and Nepali people. The primary draw was the steamy plates of authentic Tibetan Momo(dumplings) and wide array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic fermented beverages, as well as Himalayan spiced lacto-fermented pickled veggies.
Together with careful mentoring from my mother (Amala) we create a healthy, delicious, and hand-made food using fresh locally available GMO FREE ingredients and free range grass fed meats. We have a summer and fall packed full of promotional events where you can buy them hot by the plate or take a dozen of fresh frozen dumplings to cook at home. The 4 different momo and 5 different vegetable ferments are not only nutritious and delicious, but are also as the Tibetans say, Truly Auspicious!
